This mobile classroom, called the “EnviroVan” will be used to transport state of the art environmental science instruments and equipment to various sites and schools for field testing, analysis, research and demonstrations. Additionally, students at both undergraduate and graduate levels will use the equipment for analytical training, allowing hands-on experience in authentic work. It will be useful in both education and research.
We have purchased a shuttle bus from USF transportation fleet. The new analytical equipment is mounted on mobile carts and secured into the shuttle during transport. When parked, equipment may be moved with the carts to a designated site or may remain and operate within the shuttle. Each instrument has a unique independent workstation with computer, supplies, etc. efficiently arranged and installed onto the cart.
Current instruments include:
Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)
High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
UV/VIS Spectrometer
